Kia America and its Central Texas dealers are donating $100,000 to support ongoing flood relief efforts across Texas, the company announced July 12.
The contribution, made to the American Red Cross, will help fund emergency shelter, food distribution, medical assistance and rebuilding efforts for families affected by the recent widespread flooding.
"Kia America and our Central Texas Dealer Network stand united in the face of hardship, committed to supporting the communities we serve," said SeungKyu (Sean) Yoon, president and CEO of Kia North America and Kia America. "This $100,000 donation reflects our continued dedication to aiding neighbors and families impacted by natural disasters."
The gift was made through Kia’s “Accelerate the Good” initiative, which has contributed more than $30 million to national and local causes since 2019. The initiative has supported programs tackling childhood cancer, hunger, homelessness, military family needs, disaster recovery, animal welfare and environmental restoration.
Kia said it is also evaluating further support options beyond financial assistance, including customer aid programs and volunteer activities in the affected regions.
The American Red Cross, a primary recipient of Kia’s donation, is actively providing shelter and emergency services in Texas. The organization delivers disaster relief, supports military families, and supplies approximately 40% of the nation’s blood.
"We are grateful to the American Red Cross for its rapid and sustained response in Texas, and we hope these funds help bring relief and stability to those who need it most," Yoon added.
