Lucid's lighting recall carries a park-outside advisory
Lucid Group is recalling more than 27,000 model year 2022–2026 Air sedans over insufficient overcurrent protection for the low-voltage exterior lighting, which can increase the risk of fire or cause a brake or front lighting malfunction. Lucid identified three fires tied to front lighting components and four reports of smoke from center high mount stop lamp circuit overheating.
The Air uses solid-state eFuses rather than blade fuses, so the remedy is a software update. Any vehicles under recall 26V540 that have not yet been updated should be parked outside and away from structures.
The Durango spoiler campaign covers vehicles repaired under two earlier recalls
Chrysler is recalling 74,578 model year 2021–2023 Dodge Durango SUVs built with rear spoilers that may sit over-flush to the roof, allowing contact when the liftgate cycles. Repeated contact can damage the spoiler and its mounting points until it detaches, which could create a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash.
Filed as NHTSA 26V528 and Chrysler 61D, the campaign does not exclude vehicles already repaired under two earlier recalls covering the same condition. The remedy is still under development, and owner letters are scheduled for Sept. 10.
Ford's Mustang recall targets engine compartment wiring harness grounds
Ford is recalling 148,663 model year 2024–2026 Mustangs under NHTSA campaign 26V547 because engine compartment wiring harness ground connections may break. A broken ground can cause a loss of drive power or disable the headlights, windshield washer system, air conditioning, and engine cooling fan.
Dealers will replace the engine compartment wiring harness ground terminals. Ford's number for the recall is 26C40, and owner letters mail Aug. 31 through Sept. 4, with a second notice expected around March 2027 once the remedy is available.
Stellantis is remedying 844,027 vehicles with a rearview camera issue
NHTSA campaign 26V531 covers 844,027 model year 2026–2027 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles, including the Pacifica, Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, and Ram 1500, whose radio software may prevent the rearview camera image from appearing in reverse. The condition places the vehicles out of compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 111.
Stellantis, which is tracking the recall as 78D, will deliver an over-the-air radio software update, with a USB update also available.
