The automotive industry honors the legacy of Greg Deeds, a respected shop owner and technician, with the introduction of the Greg Deeds Memorial Scholarship. This initiative, a collaboration between VISION Hi-Tech Training & Expo and ECUHero, aims to support aspiring technicians in their professional development.

Deeds, who passed away Oct. 20, was the owner of Cave Springs Conoco in St. Peters, MO. He was known for his dedication to providing exceptional service and his commitment to continuous learning in the rapidly evolving field of automotive technology.

"Greg was a shop owner, technician, father and grandfather who was dedicated to providing his customers with the best service possible," said JK Walker, co-owner of ECUHero. Walker highlighted Deeds' 30-year career and his role as a mentor for young technicians.

The scholarship awards a VISION 4-Day Power Pass and hotel accommodation for the VISION conference in Kansas City. This opportunity is particularly targeted at first-time attendees keen on enhancing their knowledge and skills in the automotive service industry. The scholarship is not only a tribute to Deeds' passion for learning and mentorship, but also an avenue to continue his legacy in the industry.

ECUHero has established the DO GOOD DEEDS Fund, where a portion of their proceeds will go towards providing scholarships, assisting technicians in need, and supporting the automotive service community.

The Greg Deeds Memorial Scholarship is now accepting applications until Jan. 12. The chosen recipient will receive a comprehensive package for attending the VISION 2024 conference, an event that promises to be a cornerstone for professional development in automotive service.
