CARSTAR Jacobus in Vancouver, WA, is setting the stage for its next chapter nearly half a century after its inception. Founded by Dave Jacobus' father in 1976, this family-owned automobile repair shop is not only thriving but expanding with plans for a new, cutting-edge facility slated to open in 2025.

Jacobus, who took over the business from his father Jerry, has seen the company evolve from its original incarnation as Vancouver Frame and Auto Body to a modern repair center with an all I-CAR certified staff and a full schedule of vehicles awaiting repair. The upcoming greenfield location is a testament to the company's success and future aspirations. Spanning more than 10,000 square feet, the facility will boast advanced tools, wireless technology and ample space for 188 vehicles.

The design and planning of the new location have been a collaborative effort, involving key partners such as distributor Wesco, paint partner BASF, and paint booth supplier Garmat, along with the CARSTAR team.

"They have all been tremendous resources in helping us plan for the equipment we need for the future, our power and technology needs, and how we create a footprint for excellent repairs and throughput," Jacobus said.

This expansion will allow CARSTAR Jacobus to enhance its dedicated service for Subaru owners -- a popular vehicle in the area -- and strengthen its relationships with insurance partners like State Farm. The facility will also feature an improved customer lobby, offering comfortable waiting areas, meeting spaces for estimate reviews and vehicle repairs, and on-site car rental services.

In addition to the business's growth, the Jacobus family continues to embrace its roots and values. Jerry Jacobus, despite retiring, remains involved as a volunteer, greeting customers and offering guidance. His passion for model railroading, shared with his son, reflects the meticulous attention to detail and dedication to quality that has defined their business approach.

As CARSTAR Jacobus prepares for its next phase, the company remains grounded in its founding principles: prioritizing customer relationships, delivering high-quality, cost-effective auto body repairs, and conducting business with honesty, integrity and fairness. Dave Jacobus credits his father's teachings for the business's enduring success, emphasizing the importance of hard work, attention to detail and taking care of employees and customers alike.
