In recognition of Military Appreciation Month, asTech, a Repairify company, has partnered with Puget Collision to help active-duty military personnel, veterans and their families offset the rising costs of vehicle ownership and repair.
The $50,000 recognition program is part of asTech’s ongoing DrivenToServe initiative and provides $200 gift cards toward vehicle maintenance and collision repair at participating Puget Collision shops throughout May. The gift cards will be automatically applied at the time of service -- no appointment necessary -- and are valid for any vehicle.
“When the asTech team approached us with the opportunity to give back to members of the military in our community, we did not hesitate,” said Gary Hogan, vice president of strategic accounts for Puget Collision. “Ensuring our military families receive quality repairs and accurate calibrations is the least we can do to honor those who have dedicated themselves to keeping us safe.”
Honorees Include:
• Active-duty military personnel
• Veterans
• Military spouses
• Veteran spouses
The Need is Real: Collision Repair Costs Are Rising
Consider these industry statistics:
• The average total cost of repair (TCOR) for collision-related damages rose by 3.7% in the first half of 2024, reaching $4,642, according to CCC Intelligent Solutions.
• Labor rates are up nearly 5% year-over-year, driven by technician shortages and increasing repair complexity.
• Vehicles equipped with ADAS features significantly increase repair costs -- for example, replacing a sensor-equipped side mirror can cost $1,200-$1,500, compared to $200-$400 for a traditional mirror, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Impact Through Partnership
Kennedy Taylor.
“Being able to support our military families through this partnership is incredibly meaningful to our team,” said Kennedy Taylor, senior vice president of marketing at asTech. “Having a safe and reliable vehicle is essential for work, school, errands and health care. We look forward to continuing this support through future DrivenToServe programming.”
She added, “We’re proud to support those who serve and protect our country. This initiative helps deliver vehicle safety and peace of mind where it matters most.”
“Supporting veterans has been a personal and professional priority for decades,” said Craig Edmonds, president of asTech. “As a long-time sponsor of veteran-focused employee resource groups, I’m proud to see our commitment extend beyond our walls -- empowering veterans in our company and our communities.”
