The California Autobody Association (CAA) is hosting a meeting June 26 at LA Trade Tech, 2198 S. Flower St. in Los Angeles, for an engaging discussion with four paint manufacturers regarding semi-gloss paint best practices, to ensure shops get it right the first time.

Painters and repair planners in particular will benefit from the meeting, which will also go over non-included operations pertaining to this special paint type gaining in popularity.

Tired of a single dirt nib ruining a matte finish paint job? We have all faced this problem of wasted time, wasted material and mega frustration.

Axalta, PPG, AkzoNobel and BASF will be educating CAA members on a variety of methods to help these challenging jobs become more simple and manageable. Topics will include booth airflow, cleaning best practices, effective masking, effective booth loading and staging, and gloss level readings.

Check-in opens at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 and the meeting at 7.

Tickets are $40 for CAA members and $60 for non-members. If more than four people from the same shop attend, tickets are $30 each.

RSVP by contacting Cindy Shillito, CAA Southern California representative, at radiatorgirl@socal.rr.com or 714-944-4028.
