Ford reported a 10.5% uptick in its U.S. sales for February, with a particular emphasis on hybrid vehicles and family SUVs.
Ford's sales momentum is largely attributed to its robust lineup of hybrid vehicles, including the Maverick compact truck and Escape crossover, which saw a 32% sales increase to 12,045 units compared to the previous year. The company's SUV sales also experienced a boost, climbing about 22% to 76,403 units.
Amidst adjusting market dynamics, Ford has taken proactive steps to realign its production and pricing strategies. The automaker reduced the price of its Mustang Mach E and scaled back production at its Michigan Rouge Electric Vehicle Center to a single shift starting April 1.
The Detroit-based automaker's overall sales surged to 174,192 units from approximately 157,606 units a year earlier, outpacing the growth rate of the broader U.S. auto industry.
