The Collision Repair Education Foundation (CREF) announced the appointment of Josh Cox, national vice president of sales at WESCO Group, to its Board of Trustees.

“His extensive experience and dedication to the collision industry will be invaluable as we continue to advance our mission,” said CREF Board of Trustees Chair Brenda Hogen.

Cox’s career in the collision repair industry began humbly, sweeping floors at a local body shop after high school. His hands-on progression included washing vehicles, completing a refinish apprenticeship, and becoming a journeyman painter. Eventually, he advanced to foreman.

“I always loved sports, and although those career aspirations didn’t work out, I applied that mentality to my collision career—I treated it like a sport which allowed me to become successful pretty rapidly,” Cox said.

CREF continues to focus on supporting collision repair educational programs, with industry leaders like Cox contributing to its strategic vision.
