In response to the severe flash flooding that struck Kerr County and the Texas Hill Country over the July 4 weekend, Toyota Motor North America (TMNA), in collaboration with Toyota Financial Services (TFS), Gulf States Toyota (GST), Southeast Toyota (SET), Vic Vaughan Toyota of Boerne, and Toyota and Lexus dealers nationwide, has pledged more than $600,000 in aid to help the affected communities.
The group’s contributions will support the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country’s Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, along with matched employee donations, in-kind support and on-the-ground volunteer efforts.
“When disasters like this occur, it’s important to help our neighbors and communities in their time of need,” said Ted Ogawa, CEO of TMNA. “Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this horrible tragedy. Thank you to the first responders and volunteers who are working tirelessly to assist on the frontlines.”
Gulf States Toyota, which operates in the affected region, emphasized its deep connection to the area. “We are deeply saddened by the immeasurable loss caused by the devastation from this disaster,” said Dan Friedkin, chairman and CEO of GST. “Gulf States Toyota was born here, built here, and especially in times of hardship, we remain committed to supporting our communities as they try to heal and rebuild.”
The One Toyota relief effort includes:
• Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country’s Kerr County Flood Relief Fund: Funds will aid vetted organizations supporting relief and rebuilding in the communities of Hunt, Ingram, Kerrville, Center Point and Comfort.
• TFS/LFS Payment Relief: Impacted customers in designated disaster zones may access lease extensions, deferred payments and billing accommodations by contacting Toyota or Lexus Financial Services
• TMNA Dealer Match Program: Toyota and Lexus dealers contributing to flood-related charities can receive up to $10,000 in matched donations.
• Employee Giving and Volunteering: Toyota and GST are matching employee contributions, while Toyota Texas manufacturing team members in San Antonio are collecting food, clothing and supplies.
• Ongoing Disaster Relief Support: Toyota’s broader disaster partnerships include support for the American Red Cross and the St. Bernard Project.
Vic Vaughan Toyota of Boerne, through The Vic Vaughan Family Foundation, has taken a leading role in local recovery.
