Northwest Collision Center in St. Petersburg, FL, a longtime family-owned and operated auto body repair facility since 1959, announced a substantial facility expansion from 17,000 to 39,000 square feet.

The business also recently attained Mazda Certified Collision Repair Facility status, joining its existing lineup of OEM certifications including Tesla, Mercedes-Benz and BMW, and reinforcing its commitment to shop management excellence, especially in servicing EVs and vehicles with ADAS.

We are incredibly proud to continue growing with the St. Petersburg community, and our recent achievements reflect our commitment to excellence,” said Greg Descent, owner of Northwest Collision Center.

The expansion, located at 3301 Tyrone Blvd. N.,, is designed to bolster speed and capacity for modern vehicle repairs. The upgraded facility includes advanced tools, infrastructure and technology to meet growing demand for EV and complex system work, such as frame straightening, dent removal, auto painting and ADAS calibration, backed by a lifetime warranty, free pick-up/delivery, and insurance claims assistance.

Achieving Mazda certification enhances credibility with insurers, aligning with industry expectations that OEM certified shops assure use of genuine parts and manufacturer approved procedures. Mazda’s Collision Network—launched in 2021 with Mitchell as administrator—supports certified shops through facility listing, compliance requirements, cycle time and satisfaction tracking, and referral marketing.
