Ford has rolled out three program updates to its Certified Collision Network, and Honda has published a fresh round of technical guidance covering paint booth limits and the 2026 Prelude.
Ford rolls out FCCN 2026 program updates
Ford has announced three program updates to the Ford Certified Collision Network in On Target Volume 1, 2026, including a new OE Parts Disclosure Form documenting customer acknowledgment of OEM versus non-OEM parts decisions. Ford plans to assist centers in integrating the form during annual assessments. The new Pinnacle Performer Award recognizes facilities scoring in the top 5% during the OEC Certified Repair Network Team's annual assessment, with awarded shops receiving a commemorative coin and a $500 credit toward annual certification fees.
Ford also stated that Ford- and Lincoln-paid warranty paint and body work is required to be performed at an FCCN collision repair center, and recommended FCCN shops work with Ford and Lincoln dealer principals to become preferred certified centers for warranty repairs.
Honda sets paint booth temperature ceilings for HV vehicles
Honda's Joy of Repair newsletter, Volume 2 caps maximum paint booth bake temperatures for electric and hybrid vehicles at 140°F (60°C) for 30 minutes, with the high-voltage battery temperature not to exceed 105°F (40.5°C). Infrared heaters, not the booth heating system, should be used to cure structural adhesives.
The same newsletter outlines the EV Enhancement to the Honda and Acura Certified Collision Repair Program, which covers the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX. Standard certification is required first; the enhancement adds higher weight capacities for lifts and frame benches, Class 0 insulated gloves rated to 1,000V with leather protectors, and one technician completing the I-CAR 5-Day EV Hands-On Skills Development course.
2026 Prelude Body Repair Information now available
The 2026 Prelude Series Body Repair Information document is published in Honda's Service Information System and covers body construction and high-strength steel content, aluminum and composite resin component locations, the hybrid system diagram, refinishing considerations, and ADAS information. Maximum paint booth temperature for the Prelude FHEV is 149°F (65°C), driven by the high-voltage battery module.
Other repair callouts include an available two-tone roof (confirmable on the VIN label) and a Blind Spot Information rear bumper template identifying non-repairable zones.
