With more than 85 guests in attendance, CARSTAR Port Arthur officially opened its doors on May 6 in Groves, TX, during a grand opening event hosted by owners Larry and Patti King.
Held at their newly constructed facility, the event brought together local residents, vendors and public officials, including Mayor Chris Borne and members of the Groves Chamber of Commerce. Attendees were treated to refreshments, shop tours and a ribbon-cutting ceremony that formally marked the launch of the high-tech collision repair center.
“We’re incredibly excited to open CARSTAR Port Arthur and offer high-quality collision repair services backed by a trusted national brand,” said Larry King. “This is the beginning of a new chapter for us, and we’re looking forward to serving our customers with excellence.”
A former dealership owner and a CARSTAR partner since 2016, King brings years of experience to the venture. The new shop was built from the ground up to reflect his commitment to operational excellence, efficient workflows and high repair standards. The facility has earned I-CAR Gold Class status, a top industry designation for training and safety.
The celebration featured food and beverages from local businesses Hard Bean and Stacked Cake & Confection, music by DJ Bo Wilson and support from vendors such as Sherwin-Williams, Enterprise and Drive Tech ADAS. Local radio station Cool 92.5 helped keep the event atmosphere lively and welcoming.
Damien Reyna, COO, U.S. Collision, praised the Kings’ leadership: “It’s always inspiring to see passionate owners like Larry and Patti bring the CARSTAR vision to life. Their dedication to excellence and their local roots make them a perfect fit for the CARSTAR family.”
The Kings also expressed plans to continue engaging with the community, including hosting future events like charity golf tournaments.
