Better Collision Centers announced the appointment of Alan Gromest, MBA, SHRM-CP, as chief people champion. With more than 15 years of human resources leadership experience, Gromest will focus on advancing talent strategy, leadership development and employee engagement across the organization.
Gromest brings an impressive career spanning multiple industries, including health care, hospitality, associations and professional sports. He also held HR leadership roles at the National Association of Realtors in Washington, D.C., and the Washington Nationals Baseball Club, where he strengthened workforce inclusion by expanding veteran hiring programs, creating new community partnerships, and modernizing employee engagement policies.
Gromest is recognized for building innovative HR systems that improve efficiency, strengthen retention and foster a culture of growth. His expertise spans talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, benefits and training.
An active member of the College of Charleston’s MBA Alumni Board of Directors, Gromest also mentors MBA candidates and is a certified SHRM-CP professional.

Better Collision runs about 10 collision repair sites in South Carolina. Shops currently cluster along the coast, with one set more inland in Sumter. Best told Autobody News this past spring the MSO will grow to 15 stores by year-end, adding five centers, all by either acquisition or brownfield, and outside of its Palmetto State base to Georgia and North Carolina. The growth calls for formalized, intentional efforts in hiring and training. Its most recent new opening in Rock Hill, SC is its northernmost outpost, just 30 miles from Charlotte, NC.
BCC has also been deploying in-house AI elements, bidding for better collision results in customer service and parts ordering, among other areas.
