On Feb. 7, Cournae Maxwell, a deserving Tucker, GA, resident, was presented with a vehicle to provide independence and the ability to work and take care of her family, thanks to the National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides program along with car donor Travelers Insurance and repair partner Classic Collision.

The presentation was held at the Classic Collision location in Marietta. Maxwell was nominated by Wellroot Family Services.

Maxwell works hard as a custodian, a job she has held for two years. She has been using public transportation to drop off her daughter at daycare and then to get to work each day. Maxwell is seeking ways to increase her income and to enhance the quality of life for her family, goals the donated 2017 Kia Soul will make possible.

“This is life changing for my family," said Maxwell. “I want to thank everyone who coordinated this effort. I’m just so overwhelmed with the kindness that I experienced today, and my daughter is so excited for her new car and her car seat.”

“Through the NABC Recycled Rides Program, we’re not just gifting vehicles; we’re providing a pathway to independence, opportunity and a brighter future," said Bekka Jackson, brand marketing manager for Classic Collision. “This is one of the ways that Classic Collision gives back to families in our communities.”

NABC Recycled Rides is a unique program in which businesses representing all facets of the collision repair industry team up to repair and donate vehicles to individuals and families in need of reliable transportation. Since the inception of the program in 2007, members of the NABC have donated more than 3,200 vehicles valued at some $46 million.

Additional partners in the presentation included Cars for Charity, Advanced Remarketing Services, Copart, Ultimate Auto Glass & Electronics, which donated a car seat, and Global Imports BMW, which donated a gift card to help with expenses.
