Better Collision Centers announced the appointment of Robert McIntyre as its new chief operating officer. McIntyre first joined Better Collision in July as vice president of operations.
Before joining Better Collision Centers, McIntyre — a former law enforcement officer — gained industry experience at John Harris Body Shops and Gerber Collision & Glass.
As part of John Harris Body Shops, McIntyre managed one of the company’s top-performing locations. His success there led to a role on the Implementation Team, where he contributed to the rollout of a lean operational model, helping the organization scale to 16 locations with remarkable efficiency.
Following the acquisition of John Harris by Gerber Collision & Glass, McIntyre was soon promoted to regional manager, where he oversaw a high-performing team across the Southeast. Under his leadership, his region consistently achieved strong results and maintained high employee engagement and satisfaction.
Now, as COO of Better Collision Centers, McIntyre will be instrumental in strengthening field operations, optimizing performance across all locations, and building systems that will sustain the company’s rapid growth.

McIntyre is not the only executive at Better Collision who gained experience with John Harris Body Shops; CFO Glenn Kermes also worked there.
For senior executive slots, Best has generally found people with solid experience in the type of work needed who are ready to step up to a larger role in a smaller company that's getting bigger.
Better Collision currently has nine locations in South Carolina.
