The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has initiated an investigation into 2015 Nissan Rogue Select SUVs following multiple reports of side curtain airbags deploying unexpectedly, which could lead to a recall affecting nearly 75,000 vehicles.

Owners of some 2015 Nissan Rogue Select SUVs have reported the side curtain airbags deployed without any crash, sometimes simply when the doors were shut or slammed. The sudden deployment of these airbags presents a serious safety hazard, potentially causing injuries to passengers and rendering the airbags ineffective in the event of an actual collision.

NHTSA's investigation aims to analyze customer complaints and determine whether a recall is necessary to repair the affected vehicles.
