City Side Auto Body has purchased a 9,900-square-foot building in District Heights, MD, for $2.035 million, aiming to relocate and grow its business, according to MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services.
The woman-owned and operated collision repair business, currently located in Clinton, MD, plans to convert the facility at 8150 Cryden Way into a full-service auto body shop. The property, which includes five drive-in bays and 2,000 square feet of office space, will allow the company to continue and expand its services, which include collision repair, brake, engine, suspension and wheel repair, as well as automotive painting.
“Nearly ready-to-move industrial buildings of this size are hard to come by in this section of Prince George’s County,” said Bryan Herr, senior vice president of MacKenzie. “The new owner has acquired an asset that can be easily retrofitted to handle its operations.”
Herr noted the purchase was made “at below replacement cost,” adding the building’s layout, including existing office space, will accommodate both the company’s administrative and operational needs.
Located less than a mile from Maryland Route 4 and under two miles from Interstate 495, the property offers direct regional access and is about five miles from Washington, D.C. City Side Auto Body has not announced a timeline for the relocation.
