Chesrown Automotive has completed the purchase of Germain Chevrolet-GMC, Germain Ford and Germain Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Sidney, OH, marking its largest expansion to date.
The transaction was announced by the Tim Lamb Group and brokered by Director Chris Infantino. It closed June 3.
The newly acquired stores have been rebranded as Chesrown Chevrolet GMC of Sidney, Chesrown Ford of Sidney and Chesrown Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Sidney. With the acquisition, Chesrown now represents seven domestic brands in a single market.
“We are excited for the opportunity to own seven domestic brands in one market and we look forward to serving the Sidney community as well as Dayton’s northern communities,” said Jim Gill, owner of Chesrown Automotive. Gill also expressed gratitude to the Germain family and the Tim Lamb Group for facilitating the transaction.
The three dealerships serve customers in Sidney, Piqua, Troy, Findlay, Dayton and Bellefontaine. The Chevrolet-GMC and Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram stores sit on an 8.8-acre lot with two 16,000-square-foot buildings, while the Ford dealership occupies a 27,000-square-foot facility on 11 acres across the street. Combined, the locations include more than 50 service bays outfitted with modern technology, vehicle lifts and advanced diagnostic equipment.
Chesrown Automotive, which has operated for more than 50 years, will have daily operations in Sidney managed by Jim Gill’s sons, Ryan and Joseph Gill. The company also operates Chesrown Chevrolet GMC in Delaware, OH, serving the Columbus metro area.
The Germain Motor Company, which divested the Sidney stores to focus on other markets, will continue operating dealerships in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida, Arizona and Montana. Germain originally acquired the Chevrolet-GMC and CDJR stores from Dan Hemm in April 2021. The Ford store was added in May 2023 after being purchased from James and Jason Hunt of Buckeye Auto Group.
“It was a pleasure to work with both the Germain and Gill families,” Infantino said. “Their professionalism and cooperation with each other helped make for a successful and fast transaction.”
