Brad Wooten received offers from national consolidators for his shop, but instead sold it to a local business owner.

Brad Wooten Auto Body in Ironton, MO, was recently sold by founder Brad Wooten to a well-known local buyer, Brad Jackson. The transition ensures service continuity, staff retention and community trust remain intact — a carefully orchestrated handoff that preserves the shop’s legacy.

Wooten, approaching his 54th birthday in October, had long planned to retire at 55. However, a recent “health hiccup,” combined with family needs — including raising their young son, Blake — prompted an earlier transition alongside his wife, Amie, and supported by a loyal customer base, according to the Wayne County Journal Banner.

Jackson, the buyer, has deep local roots: a long-time customer since age 16, whose family has patronized Wooten’s business for over three decades. He is also the owner of Quality Transportation in Ironton and a representative of TDJ Investments LLC. In addition, Jackson’s parents operate a local care facility, Meadowbrook Residential Care, and his sister owns 21 Xpress.

Wooten prioritized a sale to someone local and trusted, over offers from national and regional consolidators that include chains with hundreds of locations.

Wooten has a total of 33 years of experience running three shops; he opened Brad Wooten’s Auto Body in 2014. Since launching with just four employees, Wooten’s shop has expanded to 15 staff, including a general manager, production manager, estimator, receptionist, three technicians, a painter and five detailers. Currently, the shop averages 80 collision repairs and 60 detailing jobs per month.

Jackson plans to retain nearly all staff, including General Manager Preston Odom, who brings dealership-level expertise and local residency.

The business will continue operating under its established name and service suite—collision repair, paintless dent removal, window services, detailing packages, loaners, shuttles, insurer partnerships and a lifetime warranty—all intact following the ownership change.
