On Sept. 10, a single mother from Pennsylvania received a beautifully refurbished vehicle from the National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides program, vehicle donor GEICO and repair partner Faulkner Collision Center, which also hosted the presentation at Faulkner Subaru in Easton, PA.
The recipient, Tikisha Houser, was nominated by the Being Beautiful Foundation, based in North Wales, PA, which provides safe, secure and loving homes for children who have suffered from abuse and neglect and were placed in foster care. The goal is to provide homes for these children headed by nurturing and caring adults dedicated to enriching their lives.
“I got this car today and I’m very grateful,” said Houser. “This is going to help change our family, this is going to change our lives.”
Houser is a single mother of two children who is seeking to find employment that will allow her to maximize her household income and purchase a home for her family. A vehicle is necessary for her to aggressively pursue her search and attend job interviews, and to transport her children to extracurricular and school activities.
She had a vehicle that was paid in full, but the cost of repairs on an older vehicle began to exceed its value. Despite her own difficulties, Houser has pressed forward, even opening her home for family members in need.
A refurbished vehicle from the NABC Recycled Rides program is a tremendous blessing as Houser continues to be tenacious and dedicated to maintaining a positive outlook for her family.

They are also committed to delivering to their customers the best body shop service possible, with the most up-to-date equipment and facilities.
GEICO, a Level One partner of the NABC, has donated more than 1,000 vehicles to people and organizations through the Recycled Rides program, making it the largest car donor partners.
NABC Recycled Rides is a unique program in which businesses representing all facets of the collision repair industry team up to repair and donate vehicles to individuals and families in need of reliable transportation. Since the inception of the program in 2007, members of the NABC have donated more than 3,500 vehicles valued at some $51 million.
