SATA announced the U.S. launch of its new SATA jet X series, featuring four models with smart, painter-focused improvements, including a newly developed nozzle technology setting a new benchmark for atomization.

Designed for professionals who demand precision, performance and reliability, the jet X is now available through SATA distributors across the U.S. by visiting www.satausa.com/jetx or calling 800-533-8016.

SATA’s labyrinth system is engineered to guide air through the nozzle so it exits free of turbulence and pulsation. The result is an exceptionally fine, homogeneous atomization with a spray pattern that offers enhanced control, optimized material distribution, and clearly defined fade-out zones.

A redesigned trigger can be removed without tools in seconds (excluding the BASIC) and even includes a built-in wrench for the fluid tip. The spray gun is also more ergonomic and lighter than ever before, with fewer components, making maintenance faster and easier.

Painters can choose from four models to match their specific needs:

• jet X BASIC (analogue version)
• jet X DIGITAL ready (ready for any digital options)
• jet X DIGITAL (features the adam X with innovative digital functions)
• jet X DIGITAL pro (features the adam X pro with maximum digital functions)

These models are available now from local SATA distributors. While RP (Reduced Pressure) versions will be available, at the time of printing, SCAQMD or EPA approvals for transfer efficiency compliance are pending. Be sure to check local regulations if working in a regulated zone.

The jet X also offers two fan shapes with its new nozzle system to suit different application styles:

“I” (Control Nozzles): These produce a longer, narrow spray pattern with precise material distribution. They apply more slowly but offer maximum control, ideal for painters who prefer precision.

“O” (Speed Nozzles): With a wider, oval spray pattern, these nozzles deliver a wetter core and larger fade-out zones, enabling faster application.

Regardless of which nozzle type is selected — nozzle sizes range from 1.1 to 1.4, and also the 10x40 — the respective fan dimension remains constant across the different nozzle sizes.

Patrick Reinicke, head of innovation and development projects at SATA, looked back on the development of of the jet X.

“I can only say that standards were very high right from the start,” Reinicke said. “We were very aware that we didn’t ‘just’ want to have an upgrade of the SATAjet X 5500, we wanted to take a very innovative approach. Our development manager said, and I quote, ‘Let’s build the best damn paint spray gun in the world and nothing less.’”

That meant everything had to be the best, including the nozzle technology, ergonomics, design, digital unit and quality.

Reinicke said that required all of SATA’s expertise and persistence, as well as intense simulations and extensive testing with a variety of materials under different conditions.

The top-of-the-line adam X pro has “a range of [digital] functions that goes far beyond what we have seen so far,” Reinicke said. “But what is just as important is that we placed great importance on keeping the whole thing practical.”

The adam X pro has a management system designed to maximize battery life, as well as an operating concept tailored to the conditions in the paint booth. “It works intuitively, with simple movements, even when wearing gloves,” Reinicke said.

The trigger is removable, making cleaning much easier, and it has an integrated tool for the paint nozzle, so the painter has “everything you need with you in the spray booth. If you want to tighten the paint nozzle, you can do so right there on the spot. You don’t have to leave the booth to look for tools,” he added.

“Initially, there were those who thought it was a gimmick,” Reinicke said. “But now everyone is saying how great they think this feature is. Especially as it is simply very well thought out and implemented to a high standard. You will notice it when you remove the trigger: it simply feels good and of high quality. It’s not that easy to explain. It fits, runs well and sounds good too. You can just feel that it’s done well.”
