Upcoming CAA Meeting: BAR and Legislation Update

Share This:

Matt Gibson from the California BAR will update the CAA on upcoming changes in the collision repair industry at the next CAA meeting, Sept. 14 in Seal Beach, CA.

BAR will be able to issue a citation---up to $5,000---if an auto body shop does not perform repairs following OEM service specifications or generally accepted repair standards. This includes diagnostics, scans and calibrations.

For example, if an OE recommends pre- and post-scan safety calibration procedures and the auto body shop does not perform them, BAR may issue a citation.

Gibson's presentation will include updates on the new citation and fine program, towing and storage and the enhanced Auto Shop Locator program.
Make sure you stay one step ahead by attending this meeting. RSVP is mandatory.

The meeting will be held Sept. 14 at Old Ranch Country Club, 3901 Lampson Ave., Seal Beach, CA 90740.

Registration and a meet and greet will be held from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Dinner is 6 to 6:30, followed by the meeting.

Cost is $50 for members only, payable in cash or check only.
