The two organizations handed over keys to a newly refurbished 2013 Nissan Altima, plus car seats, to contribute to The Guidance Center’s overwhelming demand of transporting children to and from service appointments.
The ceremony took place Thursday, Aug. 15 inside the San Juan Capistrano, CA, location of Service King.
The Guidance Center is a nonprofit organization founded in 1946 that provides comprehensive mental health treatment to the community’s most disadvantaged children and their families struggling with mental illness and abuse, leading them toward a positive and productive future.
“This generous donation will help us provide comprehensive mental health treatment to our community’s most disenfranchised children and their families by bridging the gap that transportation and housing barriers often create for clients seeking care,” says The Guidance Center CEO Patricia Costales, LCSW.
“Service King is dedicated to giving back to the community. It is extremely fulfilling to our team to help local families in need find hope, which is what The Guidance Center of Long Beach is all about,” says Service King Market Vice President Brian Cronk.
Local Allstate agent Cheryl Binns joined Service King’s Director of Operations Heidi Foster at the unveiling to present keys to The Guidance Center. Allstate Insurance has been involved with the Recycled Rides program since 2010.
“Allstate is involved in the community year-round and when we heard The Guidance Center’s story, they were a natural fit for a recycled ride,” said Allstate Agency Owner Cheryl Binns. “Giving back to the communities we serve is part of our DNA and I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to make a difference for The Guidance Center and all of the children and families they serve each and every day.”
