Specialized Industry Awards, Vehicle Giveaways Featured During SEMA Show

The Society of Collision Repair Specialists kicked off the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 31 at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, NV, with its second annual Collision Industry Red Carpet Awards Breakfast—a celebration of “greatness” in the collision repair industry.


After a welcome address by Aaron Schulenburg, executive director of SCRS, Rissa Matsumoto of Auto Body Hawaii emceed the morning event. Awards were given out by BodyShop Business, CIECA, I-CAR, the National Auto Body Council and SCRS. Following the awards presentation, the Automotive Management Institute (AMi) presented the graduating class of 2018.


Another highlight of the SEMA show on Oct. 31 was the National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides annual luncheon. Four recipients received a vehicle as part of the giveaway event. In addition, a fifth surprise vehicle was given to Linda Lindemann, executive director of Family Promise of Las Vegas. After a welcome by Bill Garoutte, president & CEO of NABC, Darren Huggins, NABC chairman, gave an overview of the organization and introduced co-chairs Doug Schlueter and Joe Amodei, as well as program manager Linda Sulkala, who emceed the presentation. The annual event was attended by a cross-section of the industry including repairers, insurers and parts and materials suppliers.
