On March 15, the Northwest Automotive Trades Association (NATA) hosted a Lunch and Learn event in Portland, OR, featuring Tom Engel of Vantage PBS to discuss compliancy with the upcoming Oregon Equal Pay Act.

The event attracted a full house of around 25 NATA members. NATA Executive Director Cathi Webb felt attendees responded "very well" to the information about the new government regulation.

"Tom talked about the new Oregon Equal Pay law,” Webb said. “There are many specifics that companies [of all sizes] in Oregon need to comply with. Tom went over many of the main features of this bill. Members asked many questions and the event was very successful. Tom also offered his services for an HR review to anyone who needed it to make sure they would avoid any possible finds by the state for non-compliance.”

These types of events are important for association members because "many of our members are smaller companies and cannot keep track of all the regulations and laws, so NATA steps in to help them deal with these issues," Webb explained.
