Axalta’s 2019 Automotive Color of the Year, Sahara, Is Used to Paint a 1966 Dodge Charger

Paint continues to evolve and Axalta continues to be at the forefront of what’s fresh and new.

Every year, Axalta debuts a new color of the year. Sahara, Axalta’s 2019 automotive color of the year, was used by Mike Rutter of Rutterz Rodz to paint a 1966 Dodge Charger that he built. Sahara is a warm neutral color inspired by nature with metallics and pearls that has all new technology in it in terms of pigmentation to help with autonomous driving. For this particular project, Sahara brought the smallest details of the Charger to life, making the lines and curves of the vehicle sharp and crisp.
