Debuting at the height of the muscle car era, the Chevrolet Camaro is one of the most famous classic cars. While the 1969 Chevy Camaro is known for its gills on the quarter, and the 1967 Chevy Camaro had distinctive vent windows, the 1968 Chevy Camaro had neither. What it did have was a new simple clustered instrument panel and a standard three-speed column-mounted shift. The raised simulated air intake on the hood and SS emblem on the front, rear and side make the Chevy Camaro SS easy to recognize. In this great video we get a detailed look at an incredible 1968 Chevy Camaro SS that was originally purchased 36 years ago for only $600. It was restored from a beat up primer painted car, to a yellow mean machine seen at charity events and car shows. Watch the video to learn more about what went into restoring this amazing classic.

Gene Collucci fell in love with Corvettes in junior high. In the mid-70's he bought the first of his Corvettes and from that point on, this restorer-collector was hooked. Check out Gene's collection of cars, which started with a 1967 L79 Silver Pearl Roadster, and then grew to include a 327/365 HP four-speed Saddle Tan iridescent coupe, a 1963 Sebring Silver S/W Fuelie, a tri-power 1967 red-on-red roadster Corvette, and more. If there's one thing we know, it's that Eckler's Automotive Restoration and Performance Parts will be part of this story. Visit ecklers.com for all of your classic car parts and accessories!

Mazda paint code 46G Machine Gray is a special effect gray metallic color that gives the paint a “sculpted from solid steel” appearance. The OEM process utilizes an exotic tri-coat system made up of a black color coat followed by high brightness leafing aluminum layer, then is topped with a clearcoat. Given this unique clearcoat finish, and it's relatively thin film build, the procedure for performing quality repairs of this color differs from PPG's normal waterborne basecoat system process, especially in how the surface is prepped, and how the basecoat is applied. This specific minor repair process is best suited for small to medium-sized spot repairs. The process outlined in this document is necessary to meet appearance, performance, and VOC regulatory requirements. You should contact your PPG representative for full documentation on the approved products, systems and processes.

The Vario Drill allows you to set plunge depths and keep a steady hold on your material, while the cutting oil reduces friction and wear on the bit but also enhances the ability to cut into your material. This combination of tools provides for the quickest, cleanest, and most efficient drilling of high strength steel possible. Many OEM colors are considered to be translucent. Highly translucent colors provide a cleaner, more vibrant look than older technology pigmentation. In this video, we will review the PPG recommended process for repairing translucent colors. It is very important to understand the impact of spectral grays on your final color when working with translucent colors. The pigments used to formulate these type colors must be transparent to keep their vibrancy. When you try to paint a color like this in 1.5 coats or to full hiding, you lose clarity and color match. This demonstration will show the benefits of using a blended edge underneath a translucent color versus the defined edge of a sanded primer alone.
