Thomas was gifted keys to a newly restored 2013 Honda Civic last week. The car, provided by Allstate, was refurbished by technicians at Caliber Collision's Murray, Utah location.
"Working on the frontlines during the pandemic is stressful enough without having to worry about how to get to your job," a news release stated.
Before this, Thomas did not own a car.
"Coordinating the bus times with her work schedule and then aligning it with the day care created much stress in her life. A car will allow her much needed sleep, work more shifts, and spend more quality time with her son," the news release states.
The technicians volunteered their time and expertise as part of a national program where Caliber teams work to repair and donate vehicles to people in need, according to a news release.
Caliber has donated over 500 vehicles since 2012 as part of the National Auto Body Council's Recycled Ride program.
