Stretch's Auto Body And Restoration, LLC Fills Body Shop Void in Akron, CO

Over the past year, two body shops have closed in the town of Akron, CO. However, one was recently added to fill that void.

Justin Wylie decided to close Farm Country Auto Body and Keith Damrow recently retired, closing the doors of Off Road Auto Body Shop. For the last month, however, Stretch's Auto Body and Restoration, LLC has been open for business at 840 Main.

Tyler Wade first worked for Wylie for five years at his shop and then for Damrow for eight years. When Damrow decided it was time to retire, Wade knew that Akron needed an auto body, paint, windshield repair and replacement business to continue in town. When Damrow retired, Wade was able to buy all his equipment for windshield repair and replacement. He also had a good amount of his own equipment, which he had gotten over the years.

Wade has lived in Akron for the last 15 years and graduated from WyoTech with a degree in auto body repair.

"I think this town needs an auto body shop, so I decided to step up and do it. So far, business has been fairly steady. I do all sorts of body work and I do a lot of painting. This can include all types of vehicles and even some farm equipment," Wade said.

Stretch's is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. He can be reached by phone at (970) 466-2963 or email at stretchwade@me.com.

"I believe in treating the customer right, and they will then treat you right. I feel my prices are reasonable and I guarantee all my work,” he said. “I do body work, glass work, paint almost everything and mend fender benders. If you need something, call me and I will do everything I can to make sure I can do the job and you will be happy with it when it is finished.”
