Norfolk, VA, resident Deanna Bell, a single mom of five kids, found herself in this situation in May when her car was struck by a hit-and-run driver and she was unable to afford the repair costs.
“I had to let one of my jobs go. It was hard for me and my five kids to get around,” she said. “It was even worse because of the pandemic.”
Then Recycled Rides stepped in. The initiative, set up in 2007 by the National Auto Body Council, gives repaired cars to deserving recipients.
