According to ABPA Executive Director Ed Salamy, “We had a tremendously successful event last year in San Diego, and this year’s convention in Fort Lauderdale looks to be even better. We have an impressive lineup of keynote speakers, breakout events and social events that should hopefully help us break another attendance record.”
The event will begin Tuesday evening with a welcome reception. Wednesday morning will feature a golf tournament at Jacaranda Golf Club, and the exhibitors’ tabletop set-up will take place in the afternoon. Attendees can also opt to participate in the Marina and Mansions Boat Tour Wednesday afternoon.
Wednesday evening will begin with an NABC vehicle giveaway at 5 p.m., followed by a cocktail reception and then the trade show during the reception dinner.
Thursday morning’s business session will commence with ABPA Chair Chris Northup reading the anti-trust statement and providing opening comments, preceding a “State of the Association” address delivered by Salamy. Two keynote presentations titled “Customers and Border Protection Detentions and Seizures of Imported Merchandise for Alleged Counterfeiting and Violating ITC Orders” and “Industry Overview of Accident Data, Trends in Repair, and the Increasing Need for Alternate Parts Use” will be presented by Peter Quinter of GrayRobinson, PA and Greg Horn of Hartford Insurance, respectively. Additional seminars include “Legislative and Regulatory Updates” with Ray Colas of LKQ, “Update on the CCC Program” with Bill Langley and “Introduction to ABPA Board Candidates” with Rob Barkley of AutoNation.
Following an awards luncheon, the afternoon’s educational breakout sessions include presentations by CAPA/Intertek, NSF International, PartsTrader and CCC Information Systems. On Thursday evening, attendees will enjoy a cocktail reception and dinner on the pool deck.
Friday morning will begin with a keynote from I-CAR’s Jason Bartanen on “ADAS Technologies and the Challenges in the Collision Repair Process.” After Jeff Schroder delivers “Update on the Car-Part.com Program,” Daniel Morris of Dentons Law Firm will present “One Year In: Navigating the Rough Seas of a New Tariff and Trade Policy.” The remainder of the morning will offer an open mic opportunity and Q&A session before the conference adjourns at noon.
