NCACAR Establishes 2018 Schedule during October Board Meeting

Written by

On Oct. 24, the North Carolina Association of Collision and Autobody Repair (NCACAR) held a board meeting via telephone call.

NCACAR President Brian Davies noted, "Our full board attended, and we got a lot accomplished, starting with setting our meeting schedule for next year."

NCACAR's 2018 quarterly meetings have been scheduled as follows: Jan. 25 in Mooresville, NC; April 26 in Charlotte, NC; August 16 in either Fayetteville or Wilmington, NC; and back to Charlotte on Nov. 8.

The association also plans to hold training classes on OEM procedures and estimating best practices in different markets during the months between their quarterly meetings. They intend to host sessions in Greensboro in February, Charlotte in May, Asheville in June, and Gastonia/Statesville in October.

During the meeting, a variety of duties were also discussed and assigned in an effort to make the association run more smoothly. Elijah Winans offered to emcee the meetings and will help Davies with meeting formatting. Brian Shaw will facilitate speakers and guests for the meetings, and Davies will continue to schedule some of their special speakers.

Casey Starnes volunteered to work on contracts with vendors, while Robbie Walker's focus will be on planning for the training classes between NCACAR's quarterly meetings. Augusto Carrillo-Perris and NCACAR Secretary Clint Rogers will recruit new members in their respective areas of Gastonia and Raleigh.

Davies said, "We're learning as we go, but everyone really stepped up and volunteered for duties that play to each board member's strengths. This will help us create an even stronger association."

On Nov. 18, NCACAR will be sponsoring Hilbish Ford's Annual Car Show in Kannapolis, NC. The event features free food and drinks as well as music, drawings and door prizes. All proceeds will benefit Toys for Tots.

Josh Kent, Director of Membership for NCACAR, stated, "If you have any show cars, please bring them as this is a great way to show off your toys and meet some awesome people. But most importantly, it is for a great charity."

Those interested in participating as a donor or judge should contact Davies, Kent or Mike Klosek, Parts Manager at Hilbish Ford.
