The public was invited to celebrate the occasion 15 minutes after the ribbon-cutting. Auto Legends held a toy drive to benefit its community, and provided a tour of its used car selection and auto body repair demonstrations.
Auto Legends, at 55 S. Broad St., was founded by Meriden native Joshua Santiago. After graduation from O.H. Platt High School, Santiago went on to work for local auto body shops in the area, where he gained a lot of his knowledge about the automotive industry, and for The Hartford Insurance Company.
"It has been a goal of mine since I was a child to have my own auto body shop, and make a difference in my Meriden community," Santiago said. "I'm starting with a toy drive, where all items will be donated to the Make A Wish Foundation and The Salvation Army, and I want my business to do so much more. I want to re-establish trust in the used car industry, and help my town thrive."
