Raimondo Vetoes Bill, Backed by Body Shops, on Suing Insurance Companies

Exercising her veto power for the first time this year, Gov. Gina Raimondo has nixed a bill pushed by the auto-body industry to create a right to sue auto insurers under terms where the insurers could be slapped with triple damages if they declare a vehicle a “total loss” instead of paying for repairs.
