Regional Association Event Announcements: February 2020

See below for a list of regional automotive association events coming up in February.

ASA Ohio Launches Collision Performance Leaders Group

In 2020, ASA Ohio will launch its all new Collision Performance Leaders Group (CPL), moderated by Mike Anderson of Collision Advice. The CPL Group is designed as a focus group for an advanced network of Ohio collision repair shops to share insights into the toughest challenges they face and to hold one another accountable to reaching their goals.

ASA Ohio promises that each meeting will be concentrated on the Midwest market, and the self-governed group will determine the location and agenda topics for their three full-day meetings each year. The CPL Group will focus on fine-tuning processes in all facets of their collision businesses and find new ways to maximize profits through peer-to-peer learning, though individual shop financials will not be discussed as the group will comply with anti-trust guidelines.

The group is limited to 12 shops, granted entrance on a first-come, first-served basis, and up to three shop members may attend each meeting. The cost to participate in the CPL Group will be $2,475 for the shop.

The first CPL Group meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020 at Ohio Auto Kolor Training Center in Columbus from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The group will also meet on June 4 and Sept. 24. For more information about the CPL, contact ASA Ohio Executive Director Matt Dougher at 513-659-5324 or via email at mdougher@asaohio.org. AASPI Annual Meeting to Feature Collision Hub’s Kristen Felder

AASPI’s 2020 Annual Meeting is scheduled for Feb. 22 at the Diplomat West in Elmhurst, IL, and will feature Kristen Felder, CEO of Collision Hub. According to AASPI’s website, “Every day, her insights and experiences help her to ease the relationships between shops and insurers. Lessons are often best learned from our own experience but can hurt less when we learn from others. With over 20 years of experience in repairs and insurance claims, Collision Hub will break down the lessons learned by others for documentation and negotiation skills. Learn what pitfalls to avoid in your daily handling of customers, vendors and adjusters. Review real case studies showing the steps for Negotiation preparation and how insurers choose their battlefields.”

The meeting will also feature an OEM Repair Procedure Legislation Update. Several key legislators, including Kathleen Wills (D-77, Addison) and Elizabeth Hernandez (D-24, Cicero), will be in attendance to share their outlook for the upcoming session of the Illinois General Assembly, specifically as it pertains to passage of AASPI’s legislation seeking to mandate that all collision repair estimates be prepared based on OEM repair procedures.
