RDA’s IMPACT Performance Conference Offers Increase in Breakout Sessions

The Refinish Distributors Alliance (RDA) hosted its fall 2019 Performance Impact Conference for PBE distributors and supporting partners at the InterContinental at the Plaza in Kansas City, MO, on Sept. 30-Oct.2.

According to Robert McKenzie, RDA executive director, “The event went very well and certainly exceeded our expectations. We were not sure what to anticipate since this meeting was different from previous meetings in that we had many more breakouts and conversations exclusively focused on industry issues.”

 

McKenzie added, “The objective of our meeting was to provide valuable information and resources from our manufacturer partners and break out discussions that will help each member grow and improve their business. The feedback we receive from members and manufacturers confirms how valuable these conferences are to all attendees. We would like to thank all of our manufacturer partners who sponsored this event making it such a success.”

 

The first day of the event featured the College Basketball Experience, complete with group activities, a reception, dinner, and a tour of the Basketball Hall of Fame.

 

The agenda on Tuesday, Oct. 1 and Wednesday, Oct. 2 included educational breakouts and presentations from manufacturers who partner with RDA, RDA’s Business Meeting, and an IMPACT Product Display, in addition to networking opportunities galore. Educational seminars include “Data-Driven Results” with RDA Director of Business Support John Halstead, as well as “What Body Shops Need and Value” with Dave Luehr and Bruce King of Elite Body Shop Solutions.

 

Attendees consisted of RDA members (PBE distributors) and industry manufacturers who partner with RDA, and everyone responded favorably. Attendees enjoyed having more time with manufacturers, and the small breakout discussions and group recaps were a huge hit. Breakouts allowed attendees to separate into small groups for discussions on “What Body Shops Need from Distributors,” “What Distributors Need from Suppliers,” and “What Suppliers Need from Distributors.”

 

Nick Bohte of Mike & Jerry’s indicated, “Aspects of the meeting allowed me to come into contact with a side of the business that I don’t normally see and expanded my experience positively.”

 

A manufacturer in attendance contributed, “I liked the way the meeting flowed, and it worked really well for the various presentations.
