The St. Louis I-CAR Committee hosted its final meeting of the year virtually Nov. 12.

A dozen attendees learned how to find program and system updates on the I-CAR website and discussed SEMA, the committee’s goals and their golf game fundraiser.

“The virtual meeting went well,” according to Shelly Jones, committee chair.

I-CAR’s Robbie Saladino went over the committee’s progress on their 2020 goals.

“Gold class is within reach for our committee," Jones said. "Reaching Gold class will give our committee Platinum status again this year. It is a team effort to achieve our committee goals, and I am proud of our group for their efforts.”

The St. Louis I-CAR Committee is participating in CREF’s Virtual Golf Game Fundraiser, running Nov. 20 through Dec. 20. Registration is open to anyone through the end of the event at a cost of $25, and participants can choose to support a specific market, which will direct $20 of the registration fee to that area’s collision repair educational programs.

“It has been a difficult year for schools and employers. Last spring, our committee made the decision to cancel our annual job fair...

...at the race track this year,” Jones explained. “In lieu of the job fair, we are participating in CREF's Virtual Golf Game Fundraiser through Top Golf, nationally sponsored by PPG. The more people who choose to support ‘St. Louis Virtual Golf 2020’ during registration, the more money our area schools receive.

“Currently, the St. Louis Committee is leading the pack in funds raised because of individual registrations and two large corporate donations," Jones continued. "We appreciate ATI and Enterprise supporting the event as they would have with our job fair. Both are great partners and actively participate in the committee."
