Two Cars, Tools Stolen from MO Auto Repair Shop

Eureka Police in Missouri are investigating a burglary at Eureka Auto Collision Center, 1023 W. 5th St., where two cars and about $5,000 worth of tools were stolen.

The incident happened between 3:15 p.m. April 5 and 6:54 a.m. April 6, police reported.

A 2015 Chevrolet Impala and a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire were stolen. The Impala, which was valued at about $12,000, was recovered April 5 on Iowa Street in St. Louis, but the Crossfire, which was valued at $5,000, had not been recovered as of April 8, Capt. David Wilson said.

It looked like the culprits cut open a gate behind the auto repair business and kicked in a back door to the building. Two men allegedly could be seen on surveillance footage going through toolboxes and taking various tools, the report said.

Both men were wearing white shirts and dark pants, and one of them also was wearing a surgical-like mask that was covering his face, according to the report.

As of April 8, none of the stolen tools had been recovered, and the men had not been identified, Wilson said. Anyone with information about the burglary should call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
