The crash happened just after 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28 at Ultimate Touch Auto Body Shop in Traverse City.
The owner of the business says a minivan was speeding down South Airport Road when it smashed into a parked vehicle before crashing into his shop.
While nobody was injured ... concrete, bricks, and drywall came down.
The owner says the man appeared to be conscious and that paramedics believed he was having a medical emergency at the time of the crash.
“We don’t know the extent of his injuries, but they had a neck brace on him, and they were here rapidly, but luckily there was a fireman following his car and happened to see the whole thing, he pulled into the parking lot and was able to respond immediately to help get the man out,” said Larry Geiger, owner of Ultimate Touch Auto Body.
Geiger says the crash could have been a lot worse and although it may take a few weeks to repair the building, it won’t impact the business.
