Sauers Buick GMC Collision Center Serves La Porte, IN

Written by Curtis Hankins, PortageLife.com

Few things in life are more stressful than a car accident. This is true for both minor fender benders and serious crashes---dealing with insurance companies, rental cars, and of course, repairs.

Naturally, people want their problems resolved as quickly and painlessly as possible. That’s why Sauers Buick GMC Collision Center does everything it can to take the stress from managing the aftermath of an accident onto its shoulders, giving customers a quick and easy transition into their newly repaired vehicle.

“We focus on taking care of the customer, not just doing the job,” said Brad Whalen, Service Director at Sauers Auto. “We want to take the stress load off the customer, and put it on us. Our staff does a great job of making the customer feel less inconvenienced.”

For many, the quality of the repair work is the single biggest anxiety after an accident. Depending on the severity of the accident, it can almost be like getting an entirely new car.

“We have a lot of factory-trained technicians who are I-CAR- and ASE-trained,” said Whalen. “We’re also one of the only shops in the area certified in aluminum repair. Many cars today are at least partially, if not fully, aluminum, and we’re one of the only shops that made the investment to be certified in handling that work.”

As part of its goal to keep customers as stress- and worry-free as possible, Sauers handles negotiating and communicating with the customer’s insurance company. That means fewer phone calls, fewer annoyances, and one less complication after an accident.

“An accident is no fun for anybody, especially if you’re the one that owns the vehicle,” said Whalen. “So our staff tries to take that load off the customer’s shoulders so that they don’t have to deal with their insurance company and all the headaches that go along with it.”

Another common headache after an accident is figuring out how to get around. Insurances companies might pay for a rental, but Sauers simplifies the process by providing one on their own. There are other benefits too, like an in-house mechanical shop. This keeps every repair done at one location, and all repairs include a lifetime warranty.

“Our mechanical shop keeps the vehicle here,” said Whalen. “That means it doesn’t have to go from one place to another to get multiple things done. Everything can be done in one location---It’s sort of a one-stop shop."

The quality of service offered by Sauers Collision Center is best displayed in the employee’s attitudes. They aim to treat every customer like friends and family, and look forward to coming in to work every day.

“I drive about 45 minutes just to come here,” said Whalen. “Even though there are closer places I could be, I come here to work for Kim Sauers because he’s a very honest person that believes in helping his community and putting the customer first. I feel the same way about that, so I come a long way to work for such an honest person and honest company.”
