Written by Andrew Wig, Minnesota Sun

A customer of a Richfield, MN autobody business shot the shop’s owner in the foot on the morning of Nov. 16.

Richfield Police responded to the Maaco shop on the 6200 block of Cedar Avenue at 11:43 a.m. A male customer got into an argument with the business’ owner, who was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment.

The suspect fled in his vehicle as police engaged in a brief pursuit, which was cut short due to traffic conditions and the suspect’s driving conduct, police said.

Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing danger to the community. The incident is under investigation.
