According to AASPI Executive Director Mike Lane, “Golf outing Chairman Nick DePaul of Parkville Auto Body in Bensenville, IL, once again did a fantastic job in pulling this event together. We had 148 golfers registered—a record-breaking number for the event—and, AASPI donated $2,000 of its proceeds to Misericordia Heart of Mercy which provides continuum of care for people with developmental disabilities.”
During the closing awards banquet, AASPI Lobbyist Brian Wojcicki provided an update on the association’s Senate Bill 2104. “SB2104 provides that no vehicle facility or installer may use repair specifications or procedures that are not in compliance with the original equipment manufacturer. SB2104 passed out of the Illinois Senate 51-0 but remained in the House of Representatives while the association worked with interested parties on issues of concern. This bill will be reintroduced in the House of Representatives in January 2020,” Lane explained.
The event received support from 49 collision repair industry companies as well. PPG sponsored lunch, while platinum sponsors Fix Auto and Hawk Auto provided prizes for the event.
