MWACA Hosts Record-Breaking 2019 VISION Hi-Tech Training & Expo

VISION 2019 also featured the second annual Silent Auction. Many industry professionals donated and bid on items. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the MWACA Technicians of Tomorrow Educational Foundation (TTEF), a 501(c3) not-for-profit organization that strives to offer financial assistance to students and professionals pursuing an education and career in the automotive service industry.

 

Saturday evening featured VISION’s annual Celebration of Independents Awards Dinner, during which some of the industry’s best were recognized. The 2019 Service Facility of the Year award was presented to Schertz Auto in Schertz, TX. Best Website went to inMotion Auto Care in Lincoln, NE, and Carl Hutchinson from Complete Automotive in Springfield, MO, was named Humanitarian of the Year. Travis Troy was recognized by MWACA’s President’s Club, and the Green Star Facility award went to Mike Moehlenkamp of Gary’s Auto Service in Florissant, MO.

 

During the awards dinner, four students were recognized as the 2019 recipients of TTEF’s $1,000 scholarships. The first Harvey Chan Memorial Scholarship was awarded to John Vera, and Taurai Sewera received the Dave Decourcey Memorial Scholarship.

 

Many sponsors contributed to VISION 2019’s success, including Federated Insurance, Advance Auto Parts, CARQUEST Training Institute, WORLDPAC Training Institute, Kukui, NAPA Auto Parts, AutoVitals and Ratchet+Wrench.

 

MWACA’s 28th annual VISION Hi-Tech Training & Expo is scheduled for March 5--8, 2020 at the Overland Park Convention Center. Exhibitor space is already 93 percent sold out for the 2020 expo. For more information, visit visionkc.com.
