CARSTAR Announces Record Revenue for the First Quarter of 2015

CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts announced on May 4 that it finished the first quarter of 2015 with revenue of $195.6 million, which puts it on track to outpace its performance in 2014.

Last year, CARSTAR delivered North American revenue of $712 million, up nearly 10 percent from $649 million in 2013, a record for the company.  It also ended the year with same store sales in North America that were up 11.3 percent over the previous year.

CARSTAR saw a significant increase in insurance work during the first quarter of the year.  In 2014, its insurance carrier volumes increased 11 percent over 2013, and it added 179 direct repair programs (DRPs) to its network, a trend continuing in 2015.

“There are several factors driving our growth this quarter,” said David Byers, CEO of CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts.  “We’ve seen increases in repair volumes from the top 25 insurance carriers, driven by CARSTAR’s EDGE Performance platform and continued KPI performance.  We are seeing higher repair values as consumers continue to purchase new cars.  And, weather has played a role, with heavy winter storms throughout the country.”

CARSTAR Expands in Chicago with Addition of CARSTAR Ideal Auto Body

CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts announced on April 6 that CARSTAR Ideal Auto Body has joined the MSO's collision repair network, expanding its presence in Chicago to 19 locations.

CARSTAR Ideal Auto Body, owned by James Irmen and managed by Rob Irmen, is located at 3212 Nordic Rd. in Arlington Heights, IL. The Irmens have more than three decades of experience in the collision repair industry.

They made the decision to join CARSTAR based on the resources the company offers to individual shop owners, allowing them to remain competitive in the current market while still giving customers the personal care of a family-run business.

"We are excited to be joining CARSTAR,” said Rob Irmen. “After 35 years in the collision repair business, we have seen a lot of changes. We feel that with all of the consolidators buying up shops, it will be hard for the independent owner to compete in this new marketplace. By joining CARSTAR we will be able to keep our unique identity while having the strength of a nationwide organization behind us."

CARSTAR Ideal Auto Body sits in a 10,000-square-foot full-service facility that offers the latest technology, tools and equipment. The shop features Chief brand frame equipment, two spray booths with heated downdraft, Miller and HTP welders, and Audatex estimating software.

“CARSTAR has an excellent presence and reputation for the highest customer service and satisfaction in the Chicagoland area,” said David Byers, CEO of CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts. “We are happy to see the Irmens join our ever-growing network of collision repair shops, and look forward to them delivering the same high quality that CARSTAR customers have come to expect.”
