Paint companies step up as sponsors for NACE ed events

The International Autobody Congress & Exposition (NACE) announced that online registration is live and open at www.NACEexpo.com

Attendees can easily choose from Mem-ber/Non-Member Full-Congress ($285/$325), Spouse ($245) or IBIS@NACE ($350) Packages, as well as Expo Only Registration ($15) - all of which include the NACE Exposition and admittance to SEMA and AAPEX. Those registering for any of the packages will be notified in mid-July to make their Conference Session selections.

The above package prices are for registrations received prior to August 25. Registering for a package is the best overall value and a tremendous savings - valued at over $600!

Packages include nine Conference Session tickets (one for each of the available timeslots), Wednesday Evening's Welcome Reception at the House of Blues Music Hall (sponsored by Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Corp.), Thursday's Opening General Session - featuring Rudy Giuliani (sponsored by DuPont Performance Coatings), Friday's 'Call to Action!' Luncheon (sponsored by Akzo Nobel), NACE 2005 briefcase (sponsored by GM Parts) and commemorative pin, plus the NACE Exposition and admittance to SEMA and AAPEX.

Additionally, the IBIS@NACE Package includes an all-day globally-focused program and luncheon on Wednesday, and the Spouse Package includes a bonus session on Thursday - Empowering Women with Power Tools featuring celebrity carpenter, Eric Stromer.

Paint companies show support

Five major paint companies will be at NACE 2005 demonstrating their support by sponsoring special events, event transportation and numerous Conference sessions. The list of majors includes: Akzo Nobel, BASF, DuPont Performance Coatings, Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Corp. and Valspar.

Valspar sponsors SEMA shuttle

Valspar will have a large presence on the trade show floor and will sponsor the shuttle service operating between NACE and SEMA. They celebrate the company's 200th Anniversary this year -- while House of Kolor, a division of Valspar, celebrates their 50th Anniversary.

Valspar will be offering two educational sessions specifically designed for their House of Kolor and DeBeer lines. Global Marketing Manager Shelly Cullen stated, "The two educational sessions offered by Valspar will showcase two of our many success stories. Jon Kosmoski, world- renowned founder of House of Kolor, will deliver one of the most energetic and exciting sessions about Kustom Painting, and Brian Lynch, Valspar's North American Training Manager will present the latest European addition to the Valspar family, DeBeer Car Refinishes, with emphasis on technical and application techniques."

Welcome Reception by Sherwin-Williams

Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Corp. will be sponsoring the Welcome Reception being held Wednesday evening (November 2) at the trendy House of Blues Music Hall located within The Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. In addition to offering four sessions on a variety of collision repair topics, they will present two user group meetings specifically for their Sherwin-Williams and Martin Senour brand customers.


DuPont sponsors Giuliani address

DuPont Performance Coatings, sponsor of the Opening General Session featuring Rudy Giuliani as keynote on Thursday morning (November 3), will offer six training sessions including "Implementing Effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)," "Documentation: Become an Estimation Sensation" and "The Value of Color Science and Color Matching."

BASF sponsors hotel shuttle

BASF will offer six sessions that cover Management, Jobber, and Sales & Marketing issues, including "Paint Shop Productivity," "Refinish Principles for Insurers," plus a specialized session on their Carizzma brand. BASF will also be the exclusive sponsor of the official NACE Hotel Shuttle Service that provides complimentary round-trip transportation from all official NACE hotel properties and The Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

Akzo Nobel "Call to Action" luncheon

Akzo Nobel will sponsor Friday's "Call to Action!" Luncheon Program (November 4), celebrating and challenging the entire collision repair industry. They will also deliver six dynamic sessions addressing industry-wide management issues, plus serve as the exclusive provider of insurance- specific education.

"The support we're getting from these companies is outstanding and very much appreciated," commented Ron Pyle, ASA president and chief staff executive. "The high profile they possess within the industry is important, and their backing of NACE and involvement in the Conference program is invaluable."

I-CAR focuses on new technology

I-CAR will be offering both vehicle- specific training programs and newer training programs focusing on aluminum, hybrids, and automotive foams at NACE 2005. These training programs are available at the reduced rate of $60 and are sure to sell out quickly. All six programs will be conducted on Wednesday, November 2.

The class schedule is:

8 a.m-12 noon: Aluminum Panels and Structures Damage Analysis (DAM05); Electric and Electric Hybrid Vehicles (ALT01); and Collision Repair Overview for the Volvo S40/V50 (VLV06).

1-5 pm: Automotive Foams (FOM01); Collision Repair Overview for the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (GEN01); and Collision Repair Overview for the 2004 Ford F150 (FRD01).

Pre-registration is only available through October 21, 2005. Late registrations can be made at NACE on-site in Las Vegas. Participants are encouraged to pre-register to ensure their seats in the I-CAR training programs.
