NACE 2006 delivers strong results

The 24th annual International Auto-body Congress and Exposition (NACE 2006) recently held in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, November 1-4, was a solid event for the collision repair industry - providing "more" of what attendees were looking for.

Attendance showed a 5% increase over last year with 27,627 total participants from across the U.S. and 65 countries abroad. The conference program was fresh with over 75% of the sessions being new and receiving good to excellent ratings overall. The exhibits were superior, the exhibitors were extremely pleased with qualified buyers filling the aisles, and the "Expo Extras" proved to re-energize the crowd.

"The results gained from NACE 2006 were significant, providing excellent momentum moving forward with plans currently underway for 2007. By combining a comprehensive educational program, a compelling general session line-up and the addition of many new features on the show floor, NACE 2006 delivered an outstanding event for collision repair professionals with plenty of options - no matter which industry segment they represented. From these solid results, many exhibitors are already requesting expanded exhibits for the coming year, " stated Galen Poss, President of Hanley Wood Exhibitions.

Exhibiting companies totaled 471 occupying 162,641 net square feet of exhibit space. Exhibitors raved about their sales goals being met:

"To our company, NACE is more than a selling show - although based on our outstanding sales at NACE 2006, if we had closed-up shop and went home after day one, we'd still have made our numbers. While we take a considerable amount of orders during the show, it also gives us a meeting place to visit with current customers, and showcase new and future product developments," stated Timothy W. Morgan, global director of technical training for Car-O-Liner.

"NACE 2006 exceeded our expectations as we experienced the best first-day sales in five years. Since becoming involved with NACE five years ago, Car Bench now makes NACE a main component of our overall marketing plan. No other show puts us in front of such a large group of potential customers," shared Jeff Pohlig, vice president for Car Bench North America.

"It is our goal to continue to provide attendees with the most comprehensive opportunities to learn about the latest trends and developing technologies in the collision repair industry. We are very excited about continuing to diversify NACE by adding more new and exciting features each year. As the industry moves forward into the future, NACE is prepared to deliver a resource collision repair professionals can count on," said Ron Pyle, ASA president and chief staff executive.

NACE 2007 - the 25th annual event - will again take place at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center from October 31 to November 3 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The educational Conference will run October 31-November 3 (Wednesday-Saturday), and the Exposition will take place November 1- 3 (Thursday-Saturday). The event will again be held during Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week (AAIW), taking place that same week in Las Vegas.

NACE, the world's collision repair event, annually draws an estimated attendance of 25,000 to 30,000 industry professionals from around the globe. It features a variety of educational sessions addressing the needs of all industry segments, as well as an Exposition with 500 plus exhibiting companies.
