AkzoNobel Reveals 2011 Leaders; Most Influential Women in the Collision Repair Industry

AkzoNobel Automotive & Aerospace Coatings Americas (A&AC) today announces the leaders that have been selected as the 2011 Most Influential Women in the Collision Repair Industry (MIW) designation.  Five distinguished honorees are being recognized.  They comprise a cross section of service areas within the collision repair from the United States and Canada, including; publishing, industry association, independent shops and multi-shop operations. 

•    Barbara Davies – Autobody News – Carlsbad, California
•    Michelle Malanowich –  Queensway Autobody – Prince George, BC
•    Jennifer Justice-Hayley – Valley Paint & Body Inc. – Amelia, Ohio
•    Susanna Gotsch – CCC Information Services – Chicago, Illinois
•    Sharon Mazanec – Sterling Collision Centers, Inc.  – Northbrook, Illinois

The MIW program was established in 1999 by AkzoNobel as an industry honorarium.   The goal of the program was to promote the contributions of key leaders and grow the future involvement of a valuable resource pool for the collision repair industry.  The MIW program collaborates with the I-CAR Education Foundation to provide scholarships to deserving women seeking to advance their education and pursue career opportunities within the collision repair industry.

In commenting on the 2011 nominees, AB Ghosh, General Manager for A&AC Americas, said “Diversity brings strength to any successful endeavour.  The 2011 MIW nominees demonstrate the cross section of contributors that provide continuity and leadership.  This recognition is a cornerstone institution for our industry.   We are honored to celebrate the accomplishments of these leaders and sustain this tradition.“

The 2011 MIW honourees will be recognized at a special awards gala July 19th, 2011.  The by invitation only event will be hosted by AkzoNobel in Salt Lake City, Utah, in conjunction with the I-CAR Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair.
