The Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) on July 26 announced professional automotive recycler Eric Wilbert of Wilbert’s U-Pull-It, LLC in Williamson, NY, has been nominated to join the association's Executive Committee as secretary for 2021-22.

“Coming from a family with predecessors that have been very active with many associations, I am incredibly honored to be nominated as the incoming secretary for ARA in 2021,” said Wilbert. “As my presidency for the Automotive Recyclers Association of New York winds down, I am excited to continue my focus on working for the industry that has supported my family and employees for nearly 70 years.”

Wilbert’s U-Pull-It was started as a one-man collision shop in 1952 by the late Arthur Wilbert. The family and company have been members of ARA since 1976, and now operate five locations in New York.

Eric Wilbert is a third-generation professional automotive recycler who began his career with Wilbert’s at the original full-service location in Webster, NY.

“As we began expansion, I capitalized on an opportunity to manage our first self-service location in Williamson. Since that time, we have opened an additional two self-service locations in New York," he said. "I focus nearly all of my energy on our family's self-service operations and am excited to bring this knowledge to the family of automotive recyclers I will be serving.”

Wilbert will be formally confirmed by the ARA Board of Directors and Membership during...

...the ARA’s 78th Annual Convention and Exposition, taking place Nov. 10-13 in Dallas, TX.

“Eric Wilbert's drive for quality and improvement makes him the perfect person to join the leadership at ARA. I am so excited to bring him into the fold,” said Jonathan Morrow, chairman of ARA’s Nominating Committee.

“I look forward to working with Eric in his new role on the ARA Executive Committee,” said ARA Executive Director Sandy Blalock. “As a dedicated industry advocate, he will be a fine addition to ARA’s Executive Committee.”
