If you are developing a new tool or piece of equipment that can help the collision repair industry on any level, the SEMA New Product Awards is a big deal.

It’s the Oscars, Emmys and Tony awards for the automotive industry. Award winners of the past now have highly successful products that got a helpful boost after winning one of these prestigious awards.

 

On the first day of SEMA360, Co-Host Kevin Oeste announced the winners of the SEMA New Products Awards online, with adasTHINK and COLOURLOCK North America capturing first prizes in the Collision Repair and Refinish Product and Tools and Equipment categories, respectively.

 

These awards recognize outstanding achievements in the development of products that enhance the performance, styling, comfort, convenience and safety of cars, trucks and SUVs.

 

Usually the awards are announced during SEMA’s Opening Breakfast, but this year, the products and awards were presented online through SEMA360. 2,200 products were judged in 16 award categories this year, with one winner and two runners-up in each category.

 

adasThink in Toronto, Canada, developed an easy-to-use and intuitive software tool that enables technicians to pull a vehicle's equipped advanced driver-assistance systems and its required ADAS calibrations easily.

Nick Dominato, president of adasTHINK, has developed a product that will help technicians to perform complete calibrations quickly and easily.

 

By dragging in an estimate from a desktop---CCC, Mitchell Ultramate/Cloud or Audatex---adasThink automatically pulls the vehicle's ADAS features and required calibrations based on repair operations in the estimate. It also provides documentation for the repair procedures, in order to print a report for the user’s records.
