H.B. 309 excludes the cost of parts and labor for airbag replacement from the vehicle total loss calculation. For a vehicle to be considered a salvage vehicle, the amount of damage must exceed 75 percent of its value prior to the accident. H.B. 309 states, however, that insurance will pay for airbag replacement.
